A RAILWAY NETWORK REQUIRES A PERMANENT AND REACTIVE MONITORING !

Serious rail accidents have been caused by track subsidence.

The sections at risk are generally known to the railroad operators. They are continuously monitored.

Monitoring must also be carried out during construction work, e.g. during the construction of a railway underpass.

HAPPY MONITORING monitors in real time, 24 hours a day, in any weather.  It alerts the relevant authorities by SMS or e-mail in the event of movements exceeding the limits defined by the user.

To meet these requirements, a very compact version of HAPPY MONITORING has been developed. It is used for monitoring height changes of railroad sleepers.

The French company HYP-ARC SA regularly uses HAPPY MONITORING sensors associated with a series of precision inclinometers to measure track movements during construction. (See Flyer below). An FTP file is sent by HAPPY MONITORING, according to the desired interval, to the server of HYP-ARC SA. This one is directly incorporated in the portal with the data of the inclinometers to generate graphics.

The HAPPY COLIBRI sensors are glued to the railroad sleepers.

The maximum height of the sensor including the housing should not exceed 9 cm, which is guaranteed with the use of the RAILWAY version of the HAPPY COLIBRI sensor.

The required accuracy is ± 3mm (24 hours evaluation in all weather conditions: fog, heat/cold, snow and rain).

In order to achieve this accuracy, we have installed a HAPPY BASE HAWK reference station at a distance of about 80 m from each HAPPY COLIBRI sensor.

The passage of a train causes the cut of the GPS signal and stops the measurement.

Thanks to their Autostart function, the HAPPY MONITORING sensors start again automatically after each passage of train.
